I believe the decision to enter into therapy is an important and sometimes difficult one, but the good news is that therapy can help!
Life can be stressful. At times it may seem like you have tried everything, but trying the same thing over and over will generally lead to the same results.
Counseling can allow a person, couple, and an entire family to heal and grow in ways that allows them to recognize their own strengths, and how those strengths can assist them in working toward a more positive and rewarding future.
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with experience working with individuals, youth, couples, and families struggling with a variety of issues. My perspective is a solution-focused one that views individuals as the experts on their own lives. I provide goal-directed treatment focusing on a person’s strengths. I believe that the relationship, connection, and trust between a client and counselor is the true measure of how helpful the counseling experience will be for an individual.
I have been practicing as a professional counselor for the last 18 years. I earned a Bachelor of Arts from Ohio Wesleyan University in 2001 with a major in Sociology, and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Northeastern Illinois University in 2005. I have worked in outpatient mental health settings, residential treatment settings, social service settings, employee assistance firms, and private practice for the last 15 years. I am licensed with the State of Illinois' Department of Professional Regulations.
